Reviews

★★☆☆☆ Not evolving with the times
rgrams · v3.21.9

Was a good app years ago. Now it doesn’t grow. I switched to TickTick. Which allows the user to utilize the app on windows and even a web browser. Unbelievable how Things doesn’t even allow a web based version.

★★☆☆☆ Glass UI Update
Thegianthobbit · v3.22

Really not a fan of the new Glass UI update they made. To me, it doesn't really make any sense. Things was always an app that was distinctive in its approach to its user interface, acting like virtual paper that separated and expanded. To be honest, the user interface follows principles more similar to Google's Material Design in that fashion. They kind of just shoehorned all of this new rounded shiny UI into the app, and it breaks the magic that they had. It looks tacky.

★★★★☆ My go-to
Jayded425 · v3.22

I love this app. It’s probably the app I use the most - besides Messages and Safari. The UI is smoother than all the others and postponing tasks until the evening is a game-changer. It’s only missing a quick-list or a ‘starred’ list. I have hundreds of things on my list every day but sometimes I just want to choose a handful at a time to tackle and tags just aren’t practical.

★★★☆☆ UI could be more intuitive
ReciewsbyMe3818 · v3.21.20

While Things appears to be the most solid to do app, and one I’ve used for years, there is still room for improvement to make it more intuitive. I use a lot of recurring reminders, and each time have to look up how to make them recur in the app. I don’t have this issue with any other app, but Things makes it hard to do, there’s no clear way to make a reminder recurring, instead you have go to to one you already created and find the right place to press to make it recurring. If you have a long task name, you cannot easily get to the exact place to click to make a task recurring. To make this more intuitive, it would be far more helpful if users could make a task recurring upon creation in the same area where we set the time or date reminder. It would make most sense to then be able to set the reminder to be recurring, but that’s not how it works on the app. Please make this easier and more intuitive, as this would greatly improve the user experience.

★☆☆☆☆ Immediate regret
Mr. Quiggle · v3.21.20

I need REPEATED daily tasks. Pointless app if it doesn’t do that. It’s also ATROCIOUS to find out that if I want it on my laptop I have to pay another $50????? I would really like a refund. I’ll stick to notion.

★★★★☆ It is great but has issue saving dictations
GJ. Alice L. · v3.21.20

I have been using Things 3 for years and it has been working well and very helpful. I recently noticed if I use voice dictation to write my tasks, it won’t save, the second I hit enter or exit dictation mode, all the texts I just dictated disappear. Can this problem be fixed? Thank you.

★★★★★ Things 3 - is beautiful and outstanding
J-APPsEtc.. · v3.21.20

I’ve used Things over the years. I loved what Things was trying to accomplish. But I was never quite happy with the product. This has changed with things 3! I love the subtle changes and the beautiful interface there’s always had so I’ve used it. Now Things 3, is out. I’ve used Things 3, a few times and I’ve decided to commit to it. Thank you very much for all your hard work on this product. For making it one of the best APPs in the industry.

★★★★★ Exceptional App
b00kworm21 · v3.21.20

I use it everyday to maintain my schedule and keep my ADHD in check. It’s actually fun to tic off those to-dos!

★☆☆☆☆ Stay away!
RefundMyMoneyThings3! · v3.21.20

There is no way to refund this app, somebody described this as a frustrating experience and couldn’t find more accurate words. This app doesn’t integrate well with any enterprise grade ecosystem. It could potentially work for you if you lived in a remote island by yourself but even then you couldn’t install it and get a refund! Keep your money in your pocket and try other alternatives before dropping 60 bucks on this app (mac + iPhone)

★★★☆☆ Can't input punctuation by iOS Pinyin
Yake2016 · v3.21.20

Can't input any punctuation by iOS Pinyin!!! This bug has been occurring since some version several weeks ago, please FIX it quickly.

★★★★★ Great implementation overall
Faruque H. · v3.22.4

I wish there was a web version of the web and no problem if only apple users can access it, apart from this all good. 😇

★★★★★ Powerful tool
Tetranius · v3.22.4

Just recently started using things 3. It’s powerful and I’m now moving all reminders to things 3. The only thing I’d like to see is ability to assign some emoji or icon to areas. Great tool overall.

★★★★★ Essential for school
SerenityJLee · v3.22.4

This app kept me organized through the onslaught of assignments, clinicals, exams, and state deadlines for nursing school. It’s so intuitive and beautifully designed! It makes my brain happy to use it, it is minimal. Thank you for the obvious care put into each little feature!

★★★★★ Still the best
RageRave · v3.22.4

Having tried many other popular todo apps, Things 3 remains the defacto

★★★★★ I’m Back!!
Techi9 · v3.22.4

I tried and gave up on things and all to do apps several years ago because I was spending more time creating my list than doing things. I recently asked ChatGPT if there are any apps out there that solve my list of which in a nutshell was easy to manage and intuitive and things three came up. I downloaded my previous version on my iPhone and even bought the $50 app for my MacBook Air and after a couple of days, I am so loving life!!!!

★★★★★ Great App
Chubby_Squirrel_74 · v3.22.3

I really love things. I’ve tried several times to simplify my apps and use more default apple options but I keep coming back to things. The visual design keeps things simple and easy to manage but this doesn’t sacrifice functionality. Things packs a lot into a little. I finally completed the sample project. It’s well designed and practical. Gets you up and running quick. Great app! Thanks for all the work that went into it.

★★★★★ Essential
bglawson · v3.22.3

Still great, still supported (iOS26), really one of my most important tools. Quick Entry would be fantastic to have with more supported apps (or as a screenshot taker).

★★★★★ Gold Star App
Haycheck · v3.22.3

I used Things 2 way back on OSX, and had my first experience with using a hotkey to bring up making new to-dos. Soon after I had to switch back to PC, and always missed Things. I knew it was a good app because it was the only application that tempted me to get an iPhone if I needed to upgrade. Now after many years and other to-do apps I have come back with Things, now in my pocket! I recommend this app because it hides more nuanced features under a well-designed surface. I also recommend manually using the logbook and creating to-dos to cross them off soon after. This encourages the user to not overwhelm themselves with to-dos and instead encourages organization with the areas, projects and headers design elements they’ve created in Things. I would like an option to toggle the number of to-dos listed in the inbox and today when I am on the home-screen, please. That’s about all. Thank you for the app!

★☆☆☆☆ Idiotic update
User23834847335356 · v3.22

For some reason, when setting reminders, the developers decided to change the “done” button to a “clear” (cancel) button. So now I set a bunch of reminders that I’ll never get notifications about because my usual pattern (setting the reminder) is now the opposite (clearing the reminder). Idiotic stuff.

★☆☆☆☆ I want my money back!
MMayhemMama · v3.21.19

You should give a preview or a free trial, because I would not have bought the app if I had been able to try it beforehand and that it wouldn’t work for me.
