Reviews
I used Things 2 way back on OSX, and had my first experience with using a hotkey to bring up making new to-dos. Soon after I had to switch back to PC, and always missed Things. I knew it was a good app because it was the only application that tempted me to get an iPhone if I needed to upgrade. Now after many years and other to-do apps I have come back with Things, now in my pocket! I recommend this app because it hides more nuanced features under a well-designed surface. I also recommend manually using the logbook and creating to-dos to cross them off soon after. This encourages the user to not overwhelm themselves with to-dos and instead encourages organization with the areas, projects and headers design elements they’ve created in Things. I would like an option to toggle the number of to-dos listed in the inbox and today when I am on the home-screen, please. That’s about all. Thank you for the app!
I was able to benefit immediately from this app with just a few minutes of use. I continue to learn about new features that I find useful. By far the best app I have found for task management, with great calendar management, and useful for simple project management too.
The title pretty much says it. Why the devs thought we need a gigantic clear button is beyond me. Bump it accidentally and — poof! — your entry is gone. I’ve seen a dev reply to a similar complaint here in another review, saying to the user, effectively, “you’re doing it wrong .” Umm, no, it’s a lousy interface choice.
Still great, still supported (iOS26), really one of my most important tools. Quick Entry would be fantastic to have with more supported apps (or as a screenshot taker).
For my day to day work, it is unsurpassed. Rock solid stability and continuous advancement of UI are unique. Just works, and works really, really well.!
I have engaged the Cultured Code team about an issue where the keyboard will randomly lose connection for specific buttons (return, CMD, etc). They stated that it is an apple problem but this is the only app this occurs in. If this issue is resolved. I will update to 5 stars because the app is great otherwise.
Things has been keeping me organized and up to date with my projects both big & small for many years now. I would really love for the widget to display reminders that have one of the multiple tags im filtering for. It seems like a reminder requires having all of the tags I’m filtering for to show up on the widget.
Top notch app
I really love things. I’ve tried several times to simplify my apps and use more default apple options but I keep coming back to things. The visual design keeps things simple and easy to manage but this doesn’t sacrifice functionality. Things packs a lot into a little. I finally completed the sample project. It’s well designed and practical. Gets you up and running quick. Great app! Thanks for all the work that went into it.
How do I use this app and for what purpose? I’m using Actions for everything as I’m paying yearly for the bundle and Apple Reminders for everything doing with managing my devices already as is. Any suggestions?
ios26 update they changed the Done button to Clear. This is absolutely terrible for those of us that have been using Things 3 since its inception. Who thought this change was a good idea? Fire that person.
I am using iOS26 and whenever I open the app, it crashes. Uninstalled and reinstalled, nothing. Works great on Macbook and iPad tho...
For some reason, when setting reminders, the developers decided to change the “done” button to a “clear” (cancel) button. So now I set a bunch of reminders that I’ll never get notifications about because my usual pattern (setting the reminder) is now the opposite (clearing the reminder). Idiotic stuff.
I love Things. It’s the perfect balance of powerful features, simplicity, and beautiful UI. As my needs change, it’s easy to adapt how I use things to support really complex or incredibly simple workflows. I also appreciate how quick Things is at adopting new OS features - it keeps the app feeling fresh. I’ve bought the apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. And, I would welcome the change to pay a small subscription fee on top of that to support what I’m sure is the ongoing development expense of thoughtfully keeping the apps up to date with the latest & greatest OS features. Thanks for building great software and making my life easier 🙏🏼.
I wish there was a web version of the web and no problem if only apple users can access it, apart from this all good. 😇
Just recently started using things 3. It’s powerful and I’m now moving all reminders to things 3. The only thing I’d like to see is ability to assign some emoji or icon to areas. Great tool overall.
This app kept me organized through the onslaught of assignments, clinicals, exams, and state deadlines for nursing school. It’s so intuitive and beautifully designed! It makes my brain happy to use it, it is minimal. Thank you for the obvious care put into each little feature!
Having tried many other popular todo apps, Things 3 remains the defacto
I tried and gave up on things and all to do apps several years ago because I was spending more time creating my list than doing things. I recently asked ChatGPT if there are any apps out there that solve my list of which in a nutshell was easy to manage and intuitive and things three came up. I downloaded my previous version on my iPhone and even bought the $50 app for my MacBook Air and after a couple of days, I am so loving life!!!!
Was a good app years ago. Now it doesn’t grow. I switched to TickTick. Which allows the user to utilize the app on windows and even a web browser. Unbelievable how Things doesn’t even allow a web based version.
