Duolingo: Language & Chess

I started with my friend teaching me but she didn’t really know how to play. But dou does.know I have A 7 day streak and it is really fun.

It is really good, you will have to have some dedication to keep going, if you stop doing it for a few weeks Duolingo will go LOCO, they will send non-stop notifications like “just delete me already” “are you even trying to learn Spanish” which gets annoying but kinda motivates you to do it, in all Duolingo is pretty good!:)

if you buy super duoling the only things it really does is cost did of adds and have infinite energy, like NO ONE CARES. I bought it to get video call but IT WANT LET ME. PLEASE DON'T GET SUPER DUO IT IS A WASTE. DUOLINGO FIX THIS!

I deleted the app but it is still sending me notifications like bro

For a language app set up like a videogame, with appeal to adults, youth and children alike, there is WAY too much LGBT ideology. It’s not appropriate for any age, much less children. Boys talking about their dresses, men talking about their “husbands”, not to mention mismatching vowels in gendered languages sadly makes what would be a great app something to be avoided. I wish at least there were the option to opt out of ideology and just focus on language but it’s not available.

How am I supposed to do the lessons when they’re completely messed up? The app keeps showing me words I’ve never learned before as if I already know them, and at the same time marks words I actually know as “new.” It makes no sense and completely breaks the learning process. There are no longer clear grammar rules in each section like before, which was one of the most useful parts of the app. Now it just throws random content at you without proper explanation. The generated voice is also terrible, the stress in words is often wrong, and that’s not even mentioning the bugs and UI glitches that never used to be there. “Great job” implementing AI into an app that has now turned into a generated piece of garbage that’s no longer usable.

This language learning app sucks. At first I thought it was the best and I was originally going to use it for fluency so I bought Super Duolingo for $95.99. I saw a lot of YouTube videos that say not to use Duolingo afterwards. Weirdest sentences, repetitive lessons, and slow pacing are the worst possible ways to learn a language. Even those people who spent ~2000 days don’t become fluent! I wanted to do English, Spanish, French, Russian, Japanese and I’m too good for the English course, Spanish and French are still ineffective even though they’re the most studied languages on this app. Russian doesn’t have as much sections and is also bad, Japanese is widely hated and only good for learning Kana (Hiragana/Katakana) Japanese doesn’t use all Kanji possible in the sentences, and the way of teaching Kanji here is so ineffective. I wish this app got shut down because of how unavailing it is, and I regret paying for Super Duolingo. I DEMAND MY MONEY BACK!

I LOVE THE MUSIC AND SONGS ALSO CHESS I LOVE PLAYING AGAINST MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY THEY SAY HOW GOOD I AM AND HOW FUN IT IS TO PLAY 5 stars

It’s a good idea and app but the pressure to upgrade to Super Duolingo is SUPER high. And maybe some people don’t want to. The app also pressures you to block or delete your “distracting apps” from doing Duolingo.

I loveee this game

This game is awesome it helps me learn so many different languages and also so many different things. I love the way it teaches you. It corrects you when you get it wrong so you can learn from your mistake. It’s the best game in the whole wide world.

I’m only on the second day and I will learn like 40 new words 🩷 to Duolingo

Absolutely awful with the ads.

It’s good but after u complete a lesson it puts and add for super duolingo it’s really annoying but other than that it’s THE BEST APP EVER is such a good app and really fun

It helps me learn and it’s very accurate in the languages, I love the art and the ads, anyway, thanks Duolingo!

Teachers do nothing and all it does is say oh what does whatever this word means and then it doesn’t even tell you the meaning of it and you don’t need it. It doesn’t even teach you anything

Loving this app. Refreshing on my French and the lessons are fun and engaging and challenge you to speak, write and read. Love it.

It is amazing how Duolingo helps me whenever i need to speak a different language, and it is fun to do so! Except, the one only thing i would change is to go back to hearts and not energy. It is also great that i can learn music, chess, and math too!
