Duolingo: Language & Chess

iPhone and iPad app experiences are not shared. Meaning what you do on your iPad is not sync with what you do on iPhone. And a missing a Mac app means the Mac web experience is again separate and not great. Audio voices are outdated and sometimes mispronounce words. No support for learning regional differences.

It helps me a lot I’m not just speaking fluent Spanish but I think that’s because I’m not using video call but hey download now it could be me and my sister playing or me by my self so download

There should be a free or very low-cost option with unlimited lives and ads.

I think this is a good way to learn any language you want. Also, I tried the chess course and before I didn’t know anything, but now I feel like I have gotten really good at it. This app turns learning into basically a game. Now, I love learning new languages! This is an amazing app to use for learning!

You gotta start letting me use tu instead of usted, WHO USES USTED FOR EVERYTHING

This is supposed to be a learning app but they limit it with the subscription making to watch adds to get energy for a lesson

Absolutely wonderful way to learn a new language. I just started learning Japanese and this app makes the classes genuinely fun. 10/10 would recommend

I started using Duolingo in the early days of the app. It was easy to use, i learned a lot, and it was free. It used to have a chat for every question where people could explain why an answer is the way it is - that’s gone It would let you learn as much as you wanted without limiting you or punishing you for getting a question wrong The actual lessons are also better. Somehow they have gotten worse, like they are designed just so you can guess the right answer and feel like you are learning when you really aren’t 6 years ago Duolingo was 5/5 The current version is absolutely terrible and not worth using

Siempre me ha gustado su aplicación desgraciadamente aquí en Cuba no tenemos cómo acceder a usar la versión de pago dentro de la aplicación y por temas de conexión a veces es un poco difícil mantener la racha. Aún así la mantuve una vez por dos años hasta q bueno enferme y la perdí lo cual me causó frustración porque era una racha larga y deje de usar la aplicación hasta hace unos días. Gracias por su trabajo en la aplicación.

First of all, I really like the app, however, considering the advancement of AI and how advance are the apps like Praktika is, I feel like Duolingo is being left behind on this new AI feature. The AI character Lily is very boring to say the very least she always looks really tired and sad. She’s not really engaged with you. She doesn’t really wanna talk to you in fact whenever I talk to her she always try to quit the conversation after 2 to 3 minutes. The app could be improved by making the AI more energetic and more helpful for example correcting the conversation using the memory to improve the learning to be more tailored to individual experience. Other features, such as short clips of videos would also be helpful. I feel like this step under the progress. Progression is a little too rigid.

I love it this app helps me learn so much more then I would at school (no offense to schools ) and it helps a big part of my family 5 stars LOVE IT

Quickly turning into garbage. How does a billion dollar company screw up this badly? Latest update messed up most of the language paths so that the lessons include words/phrases that you never encountered before, and in a context that provides little, if any, help. And if you want to learn it wrong, this is your app. In many cases (guessing 50% or greater), hints are absolutely wrong. In a few cases (5%?), the answers are wrong. Audio lessons suddenly jumped from being a mix of the language being learned and English to being entirely in the new language. Reddit is filled with complaints about all of this across many languages. How something this disastrous gets rolled out without any QC or beta testing in a company this large is astonishing. I would expect something much more professional, particularly for a company that pushes so hard for you to pay for this.
