Can we get an updated homescreen icon? one that's dark while dark mode is enabled. 🎃👻 like other users have mentioned, When trying to contribute, too many details on every location is required to submit information so I don't contribute. Should be few mandatory fields. I should not have to fully research a given business in order to add some of their information. thank you. I appreciate Happy Cow.
I’ve always enjoyed happy cow!
Comprehensive worldwide index of vegan, vegetarian, and vegan/vegetarian friendly restaurants complete with maps. Allows searches in a particular area and filtering by any combination of vegan, vegetarian, or friendly restaurants.
Can’t live without this app it’s great anywhere I go I can find great options to eat!
This is a good basic resource but it’s not updated and you can find more options just by a simple web search.
I really appreciate this app although it is a starting point vs an end point looking for places to eat. When I've tried to contribute in the past, they want too many details on every location to submit information so I often don't contribute. I think it would be more up to date and have more data if you could add a couple of mandatory fields and then choose your own optional categories to add.

I’m excited to try this app. At first glance, it looks amazing but I was sad to not find a place I could make notes. Being someone who can’t have oil (including nuts), I need to note those places that will adapt to my needs or places that have items without oil. Is this possible in the further?
I wish I would feel comfortable enough to add my own listings and put more info into the app, but unfortunately they have deals with advertisers to sell our data. I think dietary choices are a gold mine for companies to advertise about and insurance companies love it too I’m sure. I wish HappyCow prioritized a safe and welcoming community over quick cash. Edit: I got a response saying this is completely untrue, here are some excerpts from their privacy policy: “HappyCow may also share Identifiable Information with companies or organizations connected or affiliated with HappyCow, such as subsidiaries, sister-companies, and parent companies (i.e. entities that belong to the Green Monday Group of companies). We reserved the right to de-identify the Identifiable Information for any and all purposes.” Clearly, they can send all of our personal data all over the world (Green Monday is based in Hong Kong), and it has been shown multiple times that deidentified information can be pieced back together. Another section on cookies: “Third party integrations on our site also use Cookies. At current time they include Facebook, Instagram, and Google, but this may change over time.” They’re giving two of the worst offenders in data privacy useful information about our site usage. And here in the analytics section: “we may use third-party web analytics on our Services, such as Google Analytics, Crashlytics, Firebase, Flurry, Incapsula, and New Relic.” They’re not just giving google access to advertising cookies but also allowing them to see exactly how we use the site. I don’t see how what I said about their privacy practices are completely untrue? It doesn’t seem necessary for a parent or sister company to have identifiable information at all, and I don’t see why a paid app needs to use google cookies or google analytics when those have terrible privacy practices.
I use this app all the time and now it cost $4.99. That crazy
I had the Heavenly Hummus bagel sandwich. It was wonderful! If they aren’t serving these in heaven, they should!
I live in a new country and I travel quite a lot also. Happy Cow is a life saver for me. I don’t have to do all the googling myself and I always find good places to eat with Happy Cow. Hidden gems too.
I’ve been using HappyCow for a few years now and honestly don’t know how I traveled so much as a vegan without it! I love being able to easily find vegan restaurants or businesses and to see what others have experienced. I also love being able to contribute to the app / community. Overall, it’s one of my most used apps!
The website is free but this app is way quicker to use. Very useful for vegans/vegetarians, especially when traveling.
It’s reassuring when planning my roadtrip from San Diego to Sisters, Oregon to find vegan friendly restaurants along the way. I’m new to Happy Cow and I’m struggling with sorting the saved restaurants. I can’t seem to sort them in order by distance. All the restaurants are listed in alphabetical order only. I’ve emailed for tech. support with inadequate resolve.
Best app for that vegan foodie! find all the best places to eat near you!
Currently in Prague, Czech Republic, and finding all kinds of fabulous vegan restaurants everywhere!
I just don’t know what I would do without Happy Cow as a vegan. I use it all the time! Thanks Happy Cow!
I immediately regretted my purchase when I opened it and saw the filters allow you to search for restaurants with vegan options, but not vegetarian options. The vegetarian filter only shows restaurants that are entirely vegetarian. You're better off doing a Google search. Waste of money for me.
