Reviews
I’ve been using SkyView Lite ever since I first found out about SkyView. Every time I open the SkyView Lite I would see this upgrade SkyView thing. I also wanted to be able to find all the planets, but SkyView Lite could not eventually I had some money and spent some on buying SkyView premium. I’m very happy with SkyView premium. It allows me to find satellites as well as bodies for spaceships. I also like using it to track different face objects.
The app just stopped working. It won’t even launch anymore.
It’s unfortunate but Apple is stopping me from buying more copies. I’d like to gift your app, but Apple only shows me an “Open” button and no way to gift your app. Maybe you can help Apple figure out that their poor interface restricts sales. I have an icon for your app, so showing “Open” in the App Store app, is tiny minds at work. It needs a “Gift this App” button. Otherwise, your app is great and my go to for astronomy. Just wish I could share the fun without Apple interfering. Apple would rather hide the prices than actually accommodate sales. Maybe let them know how bad their UI is, and facilitating sales is far better than oppression. Thanks
I love SkyView. I say, “Hey Siri, open SkyView,” and boom I’ve got every constellation and planet on my phone with fun facts and options for trajectory. Thanks for a great and affordable app!
This is such a wonderful app for learning astronomy.
So, I have tried automatic calibration, automatic location and nothing lines up using the moon as a point of reference. So I set my location manually, did a manual calibration so the actual moon lines up with the image in the app, okay good. Move around looking at various objects, go back to the moon and the actual moon does not line up with the app moon! So frustrating!
I really liked the app on my iPhone 12. I just upgraded to an iphone 16 and the camera and vidro function no longer function. Help is lacking online.
Definitely worth the unlimited subscription. I enjoy learning about the different constellations and stars. Their back story. Etc.
Ever look at the sky & wonder what that bright star in the sky is? Enjoy the idea of exploring the cosmos, on a smooth, attractive, relaxing, very informative app on your phone? Get this app!!! I have literally owned this app for years now, and still regularly use it & enjoy the experience every time. I also love sharing this app with others & they are always amazed & I often have to fight for my phone back! Like I said-I purchased this app years ago, but love it enough to be writing this “glowing” review now. I really like it & think you will too!
I love the app I use to be able to take photos and now I can’t. I asked why but no response. Taking photos was one of my favorite thing.
Was even able to keep my teenagers interested
As an observer of the night sky in urban/suburban settings, I really appreciate the ability to adjust the brightness of the stars that are displayed in SkyView. There's no way that I can see even 15-20% of the stars that other app display. In effect, I can't find the ones on a star map that survive the light pollution. That's just one of many great features.
Super fun but be sure to take your phone cover off so it doesn’t mess with your compass
It’s fun to see something and be able to identify it. It’s also fun to show kids pictures in their books and then the real planets.
Great app and beautiful to look at and use. The one area where it lacks is location. It needs a phone signal to automatically find itself rather than simply using GPS. Probably doesn’t come up for most users very often, but I use it while flying when I have no phone signal but I am on Wi-Fi. Alternatively, being able to manually enter Lat and Long would also solve this.
I love it. I’ve always loved the stars, satellites and everything to do with space and the night sky. $2.99 is a more than fair price to pay for access to the known universe and all the information that comes with it. I also spent the .99 cents for the brightest satellites app which is a lot of fun also.
I got the light version and really enjoyed it, decided one day to spring for the paid version and I’m delighted. My sister has also used SkyView for quite a while, and my husband plans to get it, too
I love this app. I use it every day to figure out what I am looking at in the night sky. I was wondering if you could add the James Web telescope. I would also like to add more stars because some are not on here. Otherwise, I will report any bugs I find.
Love this app. I find it very helpful in teaching my grand children about God’s creation and the amount of information at your fingertips is outstanding.
First off, I love this app but I want to know why the app is showing the sun and moon in Pisces and not Aries? I am a Astrologer and I know where the planets should be according to the ephemeris. Can you explain this please? Thanks in advance.
