My brother died with an in app reservation for family stay made more than a year earlier and paid the initial downpayment as well over a year ago. We had no access to his Airbnb account, only a printout of the reservation # and payment details. I wanted to change the payment method for the final payment and asked to have his reservation info assigned to my Airbnb account. I emphasize, we wanted to keep the reservation. The customer service rep could not act and passed it along to back office for action. Without any notification, they cancelled the reservation, deactivated my brother’s account and refunded/credited his down payment to the credit card in his name alone. All terrible actions from the family’s standpoint. Now the reservation if open to anyone to take and the price is now $400 higher than my brother reserved. Airbnb and its relationship with customers is terrible and completely unresponsive!!!! …..no matter how many times they tell me how sorry they are for my loss.

I was a host and was selling my property, couldn’t get a hold of anyone but the AI told me to tell my guests I was selling and to cancel the bookings and my account got banned because of told them what the AI told me to say.

We got denied Becuase a host double booked we had to call support to get our money back, we go to book a second place after receiving credits and they also denied. So now are refund is in limbo and nothing support can do but tell us the same sentence over and over. There needs to be am update to you process why would I have to charge my card before ever being approved it makes 0 sense for those reason now I'm out 1200$ before my trip that won't be back tell after my trip.

We found Rusty Rock to be very comfortable, quite roomy, and clean. The outside areas are lovely, quickly accessible, and spacious. Our small group of “ole” college gals from the “60’s totally enjoyed it here!

I’ve been using Airbnb for sometime, although just a few times a year each year. I’ve always loved the product and the flexibility it offers to travelers. I also think that the app is well designed and easy to navigate. However, a problem with the rating system has surfaced in recent years that now discourages me from engaging with Airbnb and makes me more likely to book at a hotel. The five star review system is broken. When I have a four star stay at a Airbnb I feel pressured to provide five stars because of the way that Airbnb punishes hosts who receive less than a five star review. In no way was my experience bad, but it was less than perfect and future travelers deserve to have an honest review of the experience. However, because of the way the rating system works, my four star review will not just negatively impact the overall score of the experience, it will effectively contribute to putting a host in a danger zone. I now actively don’t want to stay at Airbnb properties because of this experience. I enjoy Airbnb, but this platform has created a Catch-22 experience with providing reviews that leaves me looking for other options.

I had the worst experience with Airbnb. My reservation turned into a nightmare: the property was unclean, unsafe, and had a bed bug alert. Despite repeated attempts to get help, Airbnb did not contact me directly and left my family stranded, including two young children and a 4-month-old infant. I had to secure emergency lodging at my own expense, and neither Airbnb nor the host provided any compensation. The app is full of notifications, but no real support, and the customer service completely failed when it mattered most. This experience has completely eroded my trust in Airbnb. I hope the company improves its handling of serious safety issues, but I cannot recommend this app based on my experience.

The booking stuff is nice but this app never connects on phone network. App is updated, full 5 bars of service, every other application on the phone works fine. This app is always the only one that’s an awful experience on mobile.

I had a concerning experience regarding the security deposit and communication with the host. After booking, I was asked to pay a $300 security deposit, which was not clearly disclosed on Airbnb. After checkout, the host stated that the deposit would be processed only after the cleaning was completed and once reviews were exchanged. This made it appear that the refund of the deposit was tied to leaving a review, which felt inappropriate and like a form of pressure. I contacted Airbnb support and was informed that security deposits should not be paid outside the platform and should instead go through their Resolution Center for proper tracking and protection. Despite this, I was left to handle the situation on my own and attempt to recover the remaining amount directly from the host. Overall, while the home itself was acceptable, the handling of the security deposit and the communication process made this a frustrating and disappointing experience. I recommend future guests clarify all deposit terms in advance.

Air bnb, refuses to refund us for a disgusting house, with no smoke detectors, the host and the company gave is the run around, in order to charge us for a day where the house was being maintained, unusable, and unsafe. We didn’t even sleep there. Horrible.

Anybody dumb enough to waste time on a rental through these crooks is going to lose. Lose time. Lose money. Get a reservation cancelled a week before a booked trip. Stay in a hotel. Their customer service doesn’t care that crooks through rental corporations are going to steal from you. Don’t do it. Hotels or something else. Don’t get scammed.

I was homeless for an night thanks to Airbnb. I booked something that had an external deposit. This is not usually the case anywhere else I’ve used this app. When I reached out to the host, he was rude and said the amount I had for housing was non refundable. I called Airbnb they said they had waved the external deposit. When I arrived to the train station I got a message from the host. They were still requiring the deposit. Mind you my total Airbnb cost was supposed to be 330. The “deposit “ was 750. So I’m not sure where I was supposed to get 750 when my budget was 400 max for a place. I called many times, Airbnb said they’d call back. I never got a call from anyone . Finally I reach some guy who said he would look into it. I sent them messages via the app. And nothing . By the time I threw the towel on . Looked around to see if I could find a cheap hotel. Everything was booked. So I took Ubers too three places in hopes they’d have availability. When I realized there were no rooms in the area. It was 2:30am. I took a uber back to the main train station, and tried to find a place to sleep there. Because it’s not allowed to sleep at the train station. I was asked to leave. So thanks to lies, and fake promises from their agents. I was in the cold, In an unsafe city with my spouse and my little dog. I truly hope no one has to go through this experience. The takeaway is. Don’t use the app, they aren’t cheaper than any other app. And their selling point was no extra hidden deposits.

The new default "Experiences" tab is one of the worst UI/UX decisions Airbnb has made. I rent through Airbnb frequently, and it is extremely frustrating to realize that the information I entered ended up under the "Experiences" tab instead of the "Homes" tab. I understand that Airbnb wants to promote this feature, but users should have the option to set "Homes" as the default tab again.

I hate that they took the categories out- camping, cabins, beachfront, etc. I loved looking at all of the different styles of rentals. Also- my opinion is that this app would be so much easier to use if there were more choices for narrowing down results as well. Why can’t I select that I want a sauna? Or a children’s playground? Or arcade games?

Hello, I am a US citizen who recently went to Turkey and I booked this place called “ SUNNY Damlatas - Cleopatra beach” Hosted by Oezdal . After I stayed there for a week, they propose me with a deal to stay there for 22 night extra which I was looking to stay somewhere else, they dragged me into a deal by force I definitely feel unsafe and confused. They charged me $222.84 for 7 nights and they told me to pay and other $589.01 for 22 nights more And I Did. One week pass passed and our second week my wife and I start having allergic reactions and skin issues due to unclean pillows, bedsheets, and couches. Because of how unsafe we felt, we decide to leave the Airbnb, although the host was very mad and she came with her husband to fight us, but we simply say OK to everything they said, and we left the place. As soon as we leave, I contact the Help center on Airbnb to ask for help and refund portion of our money that we made, and we didn’t stay there for that long. This is clear that this is not a safe for future guest. They force you to make a deal with them outside of the Airbnb and make the payment for extra service so that the Airbnb doesn’t charge them a commission. Although it’s been a week since we left that place and I contacted Airbnb health center multiple time and talk to multiple people, but I haven’t still solve my issue and no one taking any action about this place. I am very dissatisfied with Airbnb and a customer service representative. I am writing this review to bring this matter to the attention of the Airbnb CEO to help us. This issue caused My Wife and I significant emotional damage, halt issue and we know that our right are has been violated. We simply trust Airbnb for safety and liability, but looks like we were mistaken. I am waiting for update from the Airbnb otherwise I will take this issue forward and open a lawsuit against Airbnb for having such a hostess to risk people’s life and health issues. I have all the evidence in documentation regarding to our skin cost issue from the doctor, a receipt of payment and all the text messages that the host sent me. Thank you for your attention looking forward to get an update.
