Reviews
They delete negative reviews at the request of hosts.
This policy is beyond absurd — it’s outright exploitative and makes absolutely no damn sense. I have a $682 credit sitting in my account, money that YOU already pulled from my debit card, yet somehow I’m being blocked from applying it properly to a new reservation? That’s not just inconvenient, it’s infuriating. There is zero logical justification for this. Whether the next booking is higher or lower in cost, I should be able to use MY money accordingly. If it costs more, charge the remaining difference. If it costs less, leave the excess as a credit. It’s a basic, common-sense transaction — not some complex equation. Instead, you’re attempting to double-dip by charging my card again while holding onto funds that are already yours. That comes off as predatory, greedy, and frankly shady. Customers should not have to jump through hoops or argue just to access money that already belongs to them. Fix this broken, nonsensical system.
The booking stuff is nice but this app never connects on phone network. App is updated, full 5 bars of service, every other application on the phone works fine. This app is always the only one that’s an awful experience on mobile.
Seriously?!?!?! You don’t have a wow category!! You get a 1star until you add the unique button
They sent me an email weeks after my negative review of a booking of my stay with one of their hosts telling me they removed my review because it didn’t follow their policy with no details or explanation to why it was removed. And they left no wait to respond for more detail to why. Clearly they are trying to hide negative reviews so they can keep prices up and get more bookings. Complete shady way to do business!
I had the worst experience with Airbnb. My reservation turned into a nightmare: the property was unclean, unsafe, and had a bed bug alert. Despite repeated attempts to get help, Airbnb did not contact me directly and left my family stranded, including two young children and a 4-month-old infant. I had to secure emergency lodging at my own expense, and neither Airbnb nor the host provided any compensation. The app is full of notifications, but no real support, and the customer service completely failed when it mattered most. This experience has completely eroded my trust in Airbnb. I hope the company improves its handling of serious safety issues, but I cannot recommend this app based on my experience.
This is such a large platform, however they are all about the tenants who make them money, which, of course is today’s standard. Be very thorough if you get a negative review especially if it’s retaliatory. I have a situation that is textbook, common sense, retaliatory, and in the review, they use demeaning language towards me terms like circus side show and lie saying I can’t do math when I showed proof of what the tenant did and they admit in the messages what they done. And even with factual evidence. Airbnb’s AI program with some human interaction denied my claim twice to remove the negative review. And they’re saying there’s nothing they can do even though they contradict themselves in rare cases they do override those with good evidence. When I spoke to Airbnb on the phone. They basically just told me they can’t tell me why they denied it and they told me that I’ve broke no rules and understand that the other person did. They even suggested that i go after the tenant for more money which I don’t want to. I just want the review removed since it is in retaliation for a rule they broke and admitted too, and they’re upset about it and abandoned my property. But for some reason, they won’t communicate with me and tell me why they just keep saying the decision is final.
They promote quick & easy last minute bookings but I'm going on 48 hours trying to book an air bnb. Support takes 24 hours to get back to you & even then Im questioning if they can even help. It shouldn't be this difficult to book & make a payment. Giving 1 star because theres no option for 0
I paid for the month of April and May with my host. And she sent me a photo that I didn’t pay?
As a customer prioritizing safety, I chose not to check in due to these concerns. Despite this, I was denied service, banned from the platform, and left without resolution. Airbnb’s handling of this situation felt dismissive, inconsistent, and lacking transparency. Users should not be penalized for prioritizing their safety.
Used to be a top app to find and explore new places etc and now it’s like any other booking app
I received a message my ABNB in the Shambles in York was cancelled due to plumbing issue in the building. I wasn’t offered any compensation and I had to complain to ABNB for hours to finally get a refund. If I cancelled 10 hours before I would have forfeited my $515. I had to scramble to find accommodations last minute. To top is off the host tried to get me to cancel it and I told them heck no. I’m going back to hotels. 2 YEARS LATER I HAVE NOT AND WILL NOT EVER PLAN ANYTHING WITH ARBNB
We found Rusty Rock to be very comfortable, quite roomy, and clean. The outside areas are lovely, quickly accessible, and spacious. Our small group of “ole” college gals from the “60’s totally enjoyed it here!
I’ve been using Airbnb for sometime, although just a few times a year each year. I’ve always loved the product and the flexibility it offers to travelers. I also think that the app is well designed and easy to navigate. However, a problem with the rating system has surfaced in recent years that now discourages me from engaging with Airbnb and makes me more likely to book at a hotel. The five star review system is broken. When I have a four star stay at a Airbnb I feel pressured to provide five stars because of the way that Airbnb punishes hosts who receive less than a five star review. In no way was my experience bad, but it was less than perfect and future travelers deserve to have an honest review of the experience. However, because of the way the rating system works, my four star review will not just negatively impact the overall score of the experience, it will effectively contribute to putting a host in a danger zone. I now actively don’t want to stay at Airbnb properties because of this experience. I enjoy Airbnb, but this platform has created a Catch-22 experience with providing reviews that leaves me looking for other options.
I hope you guys update the app and create the option to be able to pay in two different methods of payment! 🙏🏼
I got scammed for 1000USD and Airbnb said they had to be in favor of the host and the host was not going to return my money even though they did not let me check in the first night.
I planned on booking an Airbnb for a trip Im planning in May but literally EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. I requested for denied us by the host, Im not sure if it's the app or just bad timing. But when I go back to look at Airbnbs for my requested days the same places I've requested is still telling me it's available to book, Im confused?? How are they supposed to be making profit off of this if they keep denying me?? Mind you this is my very first time booking a Airbnb (on my own account) last year I booked an Airbnb on my husband's account and there were no problems at all. And yes we did try booking with his account too but same results...
Am done with this app ,How can I book for a room and later in the morning they blocked my account for no reason and sent me back my money….i tried using different email to access the Airbnb app but they keep blocking all my emails
During the war I had my flight canceled because the destination is Dubai and Airbnb don’t support me with the host to refund my money back since I can’t travel with my little kids due unsafely destination. I talk with the host he not reply back and when he reply back he didn’t give any solution unless to travel on the same dates with other airline which is more expensive and don’t care about our safety. He also rude with his way talking about more money even if I change the dates! He refused to cancel from his side to refund my amount and asking me to wait or I cancel from my side to take 50% of my amount! So even if you plan to travel any where and the host make you pay with %50 refund in case canceled don’t take it. Since you never know what will happen in the globe don’t lose your money!
I have 5 good reviews on my account and keep getting denied for being 24 and need a adult that is 26 baby sit me air bnb should fix it
