WOW finally a full E6B for the iPod from a respectable source. I love having my ipod for music and now for the full E6B. I'm glad I will not have to carry the older bulky electronic E6B. Now I have my music in the plane as well as the E6B. Thanks sportys.
A really wonderful app. Makes calculating time between checkpoints a breeze! Planning a VFR flight plan is twice as fast with this E6B. I would say it's even better than Sporty's full fledged electronic E6B except that the iPad cannot be used on written exams. With that exception, this is easily the best E6B money can buy, electronic or otherwise.
I wish the number pad buttons were larger - it's really easy to hit the wrong one by mistake. Also, I wish it gave the wind correction angle instead of just the final heading.
I've been waiting for this app for so long! Sportys has done it again. A product that is worth every penny you pay for. Highly recommend.
Near Perfect!!! Would have liked to see the layout like their regular e6b, but once you get used to the app layout it's just as good. My iPod is going to soon become my kneeboard! One bad thing - timers stop running when screen shuts down.
Your standard rip-off the rich(!?) pilots procedure turn. $9.99 for a VERY simple calculator your would be able to get for 0.99 if it weren't aimed at pilots. But, as an electronic E6B it does do the job.
This overpriced little app was apparently written for the iPhone and doesn't display well on the iPad. (It has a pixelated 2X view, for instance. And it displays only in one orientation; it doesn't automatically switch as the iPad is rotated.) Not worth the money.
I like this app. I would like a pounds to gallons conversion though to help with fuel ordering. Thanks.
Definitely worth it considering the actual e6b is many times more expensive and doesn't even have a gps.
I've bought several E6B apps and never liked one. Most won't even give you TAS fro IAS, temp and Alt, the most basic of all info from an E6B. This one does it all and carries all info from one function to the next. FABULOUS.
Nice application and easy to use. Its the only electronic version I have, so nothing to compare it with. In the decription it does state it's not approved for FAA test. There is NOTHING that tells you the following until AFTER you purchase the program. On the "About" page, there is a banner which states: "Note: Sportys E6B is an instructional aid, and should is not to be used for navigation" Hmmm, That would have been nice to know in the description before I paid for it.
On 'fuel per hour' can we have an Extra time input for. Hh. H also So we can input either type of hours.
Version 3.4.5 when finding density altitude the App fills in the answer (appears to be correct) but when the = sign is pressed an incorrect answer is displayed. I don’t trust the app. I expected more from sportys.
I deleted the app and reinstalled it to see if that would help. I enter the data but it produces nothing but zeros on the right side. This is a new issue. I hadn't previously had this issue seen it until about a week ago.
Calculates everything so much faster than I could with a hand held manual E6B. I am ferrying a PC-12 from HER (Crete) to PNE ( Philadelphia Northeast). It’s coming in real handy.
The = button on iPhone will scramble negative the number for the first tap, second tap will convert back to a close by number but not original number. I don’t know if it’s the calculation or Sporty’s ground school quiz answers are wrong. I got a different answer (off by 20 feet) when calculating density altitude. I made sure to clear all history and continue to be off of the quiz answers.
Lots of little bugs unfortunately, double check if answers make sense before you fill out your navlog.
Please update the keyboard to be compatible with the mini floating keyboard. Leg time in tenths of an hour as well as mm:ss would be nice. A “next” button for selecting the next entry field would make things faster.
It’s great for having some pre made tables, but it’s super difficult to navigate and find the answers that you need as many of the terms don’t match what you’re actually trying to to find.
The calculator does what you’d expect, but it’d be nice to have a toggle to see the conversion factors and formulas used for some of the calculations for reference.
