Reviews
Honestly, I use this app all the time. I’ve been using it for probably 10 years. So far, I haven’t had any real issues that I need to complain about, but the fact that they have not updated the app in two years is a little nerve-racking. I hope I don’t have to switch but at some point I may have to if there is security issues or I can’t update the app anymore.
I rarely write reviews, but I’ve always struggled with using my Mac remotely from my iPhone, but finally I discovered Jump desktop on the Mac and bought the app worth every penny and signed in with Apple on both devices, dialed in some settings to my liking and it all just worked! Oh and I can’t believe how smooth it works, previously using remote pc, what a sluggish pos that was now that I can see how truly smooth it can be, I’m so happy and blown away!
Works great on phone and other devices. However I’m experiencing random auto-reconnects even when Jump is closed on the laptop or phone while I’m using the host computer. Why would we not be able to control when it auto reconnects?
Need a quick way to VNC/Jump in but *without* keyboard and mouse being active. As in, the “view only” mode that most other VNC clients have. This feature is critical for production monitoring of on-air assets. Please add this. Thank you! :)
It worked fine with my Windows 10 machine but not with Windows 11. My Dell Laptop Windows 11 machine requires a 6 digit numeric PIN. JUMP only works with an alphanumeric password.
This app is great, but I recently updated my computer to windows 11 and this app no longer works. It looks like it has been a few years since it was last updated and I don’t think it is compatible with Windows 11.
I went through the setup successfully and see my Mac on my iPad jump connect. When I pick that, it asks me for my login credentials and then displays “Connecting…” forever. Rebooted my Mac and now I can connect, but I don’t see any way to deal with multiple screens… Time to RTFM
Can't use Jump on Apple Vision Pro due to a constant "Jump Pasted from" message covering the screen every time I look away then back. I have submitted a support request for their product team to fix ASAP, and I will update this review if this show-stopper problem is fixed.
Works on every device from iPhone to Vision Pro, to control Mac mini.
Needs Themed icon support for tinted and dark mode icons.
It’s a great concept…. Issue Im having is the constant disconnection. I’ve done trouble shooting prompts, even used other devices….no luck unfortunately
this app received no updates in 1 year and no feature updates in more than 2 years. Fluid 2 is out for long time yet it is not supported by the app. With other remote desktop apps getting better everyday, I am not sure if this is still a competitive option anymore.
Ok I had to come back to write a review. I was using the Microsoft version because I just bought this iPad. It was just ok and lacking a lot especially with the mouse functions. Suddenly remembered I had bought this like over twelve years ago for an old iPad I had. I was willing to pay the 14 one time fee so hit the button… and they totally honored my purchase from all those years ago and didn’t charge me again. How awesome is that of them. So happy to have an iPad and THIS APP back again!!!!
I was using RealVNC which worked fine for one VNC host but not another, which switching to Jump Desktop solved those problems. I'm willing to pay a reasonable price for software that does the job, which this app does far and beyond that. Thank you so much for not offering a subscription model like another VNC app that wants $119USD for a "lifetime" license. I highly recommend this app for its usefulness, quality and for the developer offering it at a reasonable price. This is petty but the inclusion of various Linux distros icons [to assign to various sessions] is a nice touch. As for the posts about local security there's an option to require touch or Face ID to view an open session. If you use your device outside of a secure area (like in an office) then you should enable this. Credit to the developer for adding this important feature. Highly, highly recommended.
While I would love an VP version of this app, I am very happy the iPad version is available on the VP. This works great with a mouse and keyboard. I remote into a Windows machine many hours each day from both my VP and my Mac and I only use Jump. Excellent software.
After the M4 Mac Mini came out, I was intrigued about whether I could use a remote desktop app on my iPad to open up a new world of possibilities with more advanced computing tasks. Indeed, I could… after I did some searching, the consensus answer was always the same: use Jump Desktop. Setup was easy and over time, I’ve added various utilities to my Mac that now mean my iPad is an iPad, but also a Mac, while also an iPad. I hope they keep developing the software, since it is remarkable and I could not recommend more. On the wish list, would be adding microphone and game controller support to the iPad. But those nice-to-haves aside, this is a fabulous app and has transformed my iPad and productivity.
This app is totally useless. I check it’s working when I am home but when I am away from home, I always get the the message “Computer is off line”
Had a little trouble, but good support team solve that very quickly the answer pretty fast
App is drastically reducing iPhone battery life while running in background.
I can’t remember the last time I felt compelled to leave an app review, but this is genuinely an incredible tool. The controls are intuitive, it’s shockingly reliable and consistent, it seems to be very well-thought out and feels like something that’s made by people who actually use it for themselves. Set up was literally buttery smooth too, took almost no effort, and I was up and running within minutes of purchasing the app. Also, love that it hasn’t popped up and prompted me to leave a review lol. Would give more than 5 stars if I could. Will certainly be recommending this to anyone who has a use-case for this. Very affordable price too. Excellent all around!!!
