Can’t log in on iphone 14
I heard the new player was bad, but not this bad. This is Amazon kind of slop, not what I expect from Netflix. Basic functionality like forward and rewind are hosed up. Did you even test this before releasing this monstrosity on the public? Really?

What are you guys doing? You completely broke the viewing experience for AppleTV users by doing your own player controls. It’s so awful I’m debating cancelling.

I got rid of Netflix a long time ago because of the type of programming. But then I thought it’s been long enough so I came back and I don’t regret coming back.
The change they made to the video player is absolute garbage and makes it worse in every way.

The new TVos app is terrible, it broke the rewind/forward functionality. Bring back the native player. It’s hard to review tvos apps, so doing it here.

Switching from the native Apple TV video player to this custom garbage is such a disappointing move. It’s user hostile and shortsighted. The “consistent across platforms” argument is nonsense. I buy Apple TV because I want the Apple TV experience. Now it takes multiple clicks to jump back 10 seconds, auto subtitles are gone, scrubbing is impossible. This is such a frustrating regression in user experience, I wonder if anyone at Netflix has ever used their own app.
Netflix is going to make a couple billion not buying TW. The price continues to increase and yet I find myself watching HBO MAX on a more regular basis. Offering a quality product and making a profit is one thing but to continue raising prices? You don’t even have live content on the regular and when you do, it’s terrible! Bang for my buck? I’ll take HBO, Paramount & Apple TV for about the same price as one Netflix subscription

The change away from the native player to a custom player is a disaster for the user experience. Rewinding ten seconds not only takes more taps, but it’s easy to accidentally scrub beyond where you want to go. And almost every feature on the iOS AppleTV remote is now completely broken. The only thing that works like it should is the play/pause button. Funnily enough, just before the update I took a Netflix survey that had a question asking about the likelihood that I’ll be a subscriber 3 months from now. I answered 100%. But, with these changes and the price increase, I’m reevaluating that. Netflix may have to go.
