HBO Max: Stream Movies & TV

Seriously it’s ridiculous. If I were a recovering addict I wouldn’t be able to use this app at all. I don’t mind ads, but I do not appreciate watching a children’s show and then being pushed AI gambling ads 4-5 times during a 22 minute episode. There needs to be a setting to change ads at least or something. Will be cancelling.

Since the March 30, 2026 update , the play button is missing after returning to the app. If I leave the app while watching a show and return to it, I have to leave the show, then click Resume. Very frustrating, please fix this bug!

Out of all the apps the only one that isn’t over saturated with low quality dumb filler shows. It has some really good shows on there too that I love are not edited in the least bit. Raunchy or over the top I know it’ll be on Max. Friends and neighbors is amazing, as well as many adult animation classics. Rick and Morty(the unrated good kind) smiling friends… yeah then to game of thrones. All my jams.

I am a Gen X’er! I grew up before, during, and now after, one of the most awesome achievements in visual entertainment: COMMERCIAL-FREE ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION!! HBO, CINEMAX, SHOWTIME, and now EVERY STREAMING CHANNEL….. is nothing but commercial television. SAD AND SUCKS

Can you please fix not having a play button when I back out of the app to send a quick text, jumping back into my show. Every time, I have to back out of the show and then hit resume

They give you the ability to downvote and tell them you don’t like a show, and it’ll say “got it, you don’t want to watch this show” but then they just keep advertising it to you whenever you open the app.

So many choices for whatever the mood the great series that are available, maybe you wanna try something new or watch something for the second or third time it’s available and it’s so nice to get away from the day-to-day television options.

The media player in the HBO app is flat out terrible. My biggest quote comes from TVOS. The player seems to be hard, locked to swiping gestures rather than allowing a user to click forward and backwards, a function that is available on the Apple TV. What’s left is an awful experience trying to go back. Part of a stream or forward. I can’t understand how something like this was missed.

I loved watching HBO max because it has all the things that I’ve been looking for and it also has more things than Netflix does. But that’s it

I enjoy catching up on GOT and some other series and of course the DC content being readily available on this platform is awesome!
