Not sure why the app says $7 but it charged me $38.92
I grabbed this for my flights last week. I’m an avid abelton user and I must say I’m impressed with this app. I’ve made dozens of quick sketches so far. I’m excited to see how cloud works and how these sessions translate to the desktop app when I return. But either way I got exactly what I needed out of this: easy way to quickly program new drum ideas and sampler ideas (I’ve even been sampling off YouTube in the airport). I’ll likely purchase the drift update today as well
This is now my go to musical sketchpad for non-sample-based work. Better than most hardware groove boxes out there for a couple bucks. Ableton PLEASE update with a way to midimap my launchpad mini so I can control and launch all 8 tracks outside my phone. It’d be a 10/10 app then imo
Not a huge fan of the UI or the workflow. I think the midi-editor could use further refinement. Wish there had been a demo-version with limited instruments / effects so I could have tested the app first. As it is, it feels like a waste of money. It’s just not for me.
I have been making music in DAWs for over 20 years. Ableton Note is the fastest way for me to come up with ideas due to the seamless workflow. Beginners I have recommended it to have caught on very quickly as well.
Love this app and how far it’s come since the first release it’s incredible how quick and easy it is to use and lay new ideas down then bring into Ableton live to finish from the cloud I dig it thanks Ableton for all your hard work !
Really dope app , I been a day one user. Sto any devs that are reading the reviews , add an arp please and thank you 🥇
please add an option for more text and less symbols. i can read "double loop" "auto filter" etc, faster than i can sift through the little hieroglyphics
For 5 years I have been enjoying the ever increasing functionality of Ableton Note. A drum pad on the solid phone screen is less than perfect and there are fewer sounds than in Ableton Live. Playing on the screen I’ve gotten very used to. Since the upgrade to MIDI compatibility it can be controlled by any other device and vice versa though at that point I would probably just use the laptop. The above is particularly true because midi editing with my fingers on the touchscreen of the iPhone is a delicate and tricky process. I have much difficulty sometimes with selecting and adjusting notes- often does something I am not attempting. I have had a lot of fun with this product and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning or making beats on the go. That said, I have come close to breaking my phone in half in fits of rage during the editing process. Much love Ableton, thank you for this great inexpensive product and for constantly improving it. **Should have mentioned the endless features and functions of this simple phone app. It is about as simple or complex as the user wants to make it. I am still learning about it all the time even now, and it keeps getting better!
Ableton Note is so intuitive to use the addition of the full drift synth is so nice. I hope we get more full synths. Take my money. I do wish that landscape mode was native to the iPhone version. The moment you need to charge the phone you can’t use a midi controller unless the phone is turned sideways and now good luck doing anything. I think it is a reasonable ask.
I love this app, I slept on it, but after watching some YouTube tutorials and reviews , I was hooked. I have one request, Can you please add a feature that helps us import a loop. I use a lot of loops
It’s been a long journey, but Note is finally starting to live up to the high standard that you would expect from Ableton. If they give us the complete Wavetable synth, I’ll be fully satisfied.
Great app and gives a good starting point to go over to Ableton Live. One issue that’s frustrating when working when multitasking, the back arrow “top left” is covered by the red, yellow, green move/resize button that Apple has on all there apps on the iPad in iOS 26. Hopefully Ableton will have an update to fix the issue.
I love it especially as an addition to Live on my Mac. I’ve been using Live since about 2009 and version 7 (I believe?) through current version 12 and it’s the best DAW for many reasons IMO. And I use Note now every day to create and record ideas (usually when I should be working) and easily move from Note on my phone to Ableton on my Mac (when I’m done for the day and home from work;) and I never have an ideas fade away before I can do something w it anymore!! BUT… the only gripe I have that seems like an easy fix/addition: no step sequencer for drums etc! It seems so obvious I started to wonder if I just didn’t know how to access it. Please add this feature. I’m sure it will cost money for that feature but I will gladly pay amd im sure other will too! Make it the PERFECT music creation tool instead of just the BEST as it is already;) That’s all and thank you for what you do…
I'm continually impressed at just how much power and flexibility Note has under its hood. The just-released 1.7.3 update has so many new features that I can't seem to put my iPad down. Cheers and thanks, Ableton homies.
Awesome Software, only complaint is I wish there was a way to adjust the metronome volume. It gets lost or hard to hear in a mix and the only option is turning everything else down, which can ruin the vibe as well.
This is a very powerful on the go version of a real daw. Perfect for mobile! If you are into music production, especially if you’re a Ableton user, this is a must have. Cloud sync is great for transferring files! Love the updates as well!!!
Obviously this app is being improved regularly, so hopefully they add AUV3 and multi bus out support, so this one app can dominate the iPad with its level of functionality.
Easy to use, intuitive and quite nice visual aspect, it would seem that it could be better than FLMobile but I consider that there are 3 things that hold back its true potential to be better than FLMobile (which I have and use) and I wish that these recommendations could be heard!. 1. Manual draw notes and visual midi editor: It's really frustrating to have to record and record to get a sound right, it would be easier to just take that sound and drag it to a specific note on the midi piano (all already quantized to our shape). In other words, like in “Live” if we could have a visual midi piano in which we can capture notes just by pressing said note, add loops and that their duration depends on the duration of the note placed on the midi piano, that would be great. 2. Moving the pad rack or midi piano: If we could have the option to move on the midi piano or the pad rack itself to select the 8th we want, that would save us a lot of time! It would also help a lot if we could activate the option to see the labels or name of the notes on the piano or rack (C,D,E, Kick, Snare, Clap, etc...) 3. Add more than one effect or plugin: maybe for performance reasons this is not possible but if it is not, it would be great to have the opportunity to add more than one effect to individual pads and sound kits, like “ I want to add max 5 or 8 effects or effects plugin (reverb, sat, EQ) at the same time in a single sound and also to the sound kit.
Plz! Export midi save.
