DoorDash - Dasher

New to door dash after doing all of the other delivery services in my area. And boy does this app have a lot of bugs. Every hour or so it needs to be forced quit because it’s frozen. It often ends your dash without telling you - the only way to know is to force quit and you see oh yeah your dash has been ended. Maybe they’ll get it worked out but compared to Uber Eats, grub hub, and instacart this is such a mess of an app. 2 stars

This app needs to adjust its delivery rates; I refuse to even see a two-dollar delivery pop up on my phone screen.

Doordash is constantly changing stay up give your off and try your hardest to be successful and you will be on this app. It’s a constant battle a constant hustle, but you are needed and you do matter I’ve sacrificed everything to be the best I can and earn what I deserve. Hopefully Doordash continues to take care of it. Dashers that work hard and bring excellence job and I wish everybody luck.

I use both DoorDash and UberEats and as a platinum dasher I won’t take anything less than a dollar a mile, because it doesn’t pay enough to go 8 miles for $4, or 19 miles for $11. So with that being said I run UberEats because I make more money on that app, and sometimes I get lucky and get a pickup on both apps at the same place and delivery to the same area. Now obviously it’s hard to get to the dropoff at the time they want, but there are ways to make it work. Def need better pay ratio, and also you may think about having what UberEats has. You can set your navigation towards your home so that they only assign pickup and deliveries heading that way. I don’t want to be heading home have my dasher app on and get a dash 7 or 8 miles south of me and have to deny it and ruin my acceptance rate. Please find a way to add in that kind of ability (if I’m set to head home, only give me calls heading that way). Thank you!

This is the worst app to try to earn extra money, they don’t pay enough I’m on a bike and the most they ever paid me was 7$. Seriously and most the times I get 2$ I can do this for 8 hours and only make 20$ and then the store can be packed and it’s out of my control and I’ll get in trouble for it, don’t try this app they don’t pay you enough for your time

Not sure why there’s no integration with CarPlay (nor Android Auto for the Android version). Also when traveling a set itinerary, not easy to “dash along the way”

You can only change the app’s volume while it’s making sound. Otherwise iPhone adjusts system volume, which the dasher app doesn’t respect

First off, the app will update what seems like everyday. But it will update to a new format, then the next day be back to the previous version like it reverted back updates then the next day be back at the new update format. Also the in app navigation is the worst thing I have ever seen. The gps will go out of its way to give you the worst, slowest, most turns and lights route guaranteed. Switch to Google Maps in preferences.

This is not a safe app to use. I have had 2 incidents in which the app gives me wrong directions and I end up in the wrong destination and it affects my delivery time summary AND SAFETY. I have had the need to call the customer and ask for the correct pin location and use WhatsApp to coordinate the right location with the customer. This have affected my valuations and SAFETY since I’ve ended up in dangerous zones of the country where I’m not even meant to be because that’s not the correct location. I’ve written to DoorDash explaining this situation multiple times and they refuse to do better, and they told me that, if this keep happening they will block me from Dasher. I want to make clear that if something bad ever happens to me (like a life threatening situation) I hold Dasher accountable for not listening to me and refusing to correct the app deficiencies.

I do not write reviews often. But this I felt had to be talked about. Living in a semi small town the competition for orders is absurd. Doordash shouldn’t let so many individuals dash all at once it takes the opportunity away from experienced dashers. There could be 4-5 orders ready and waiting to be picked up and I don’t understand why Dasher doesn’t just let me deliver them all since I am already at the location.

This is always available to me when needed! And I make money!! Stay busy and take all orders! Platinum!!!

Here’s a typical day DoorDash. I dropped my kids off at school and then I have to drive about 30 minutes to the zone where it is busy I get an offer it’s $15 worth but now it’s all the way in Manhattan and I have to pay $12 worth of toll. Gas and mileage and tolls. Do not get reimbursed once I drop off the order now you’re outside of the zone. You might get an offer. Heading back to your zone. Oh look I get an offer. It’s worth nine dollars. I accepted. It’s at a Super Market there there’s nine bags of 20 pound bag of rice gallons of milk and juices to a fifth floor walk up. I go back to my car. I have a parking ticket worth $110. DoorDash does not reimburse. some days. You could make $80-$100 but $40-$50 already goes to gas on that day.
