Koala Sampler • Beat Maker

Koala has become my go to DAW most days. I find myself making full beats on it and might even use it to make every beat on my album. I love it!!

2026 review. Please please please add recondition the effects. Like punch in fx. I can’t believe this still doesn’t have it Love the app. I have had it since it’s release. I even bought a Roland SP-404 because it’s similar and now connects to koala, however I have one Want!!! Please add “automation” or are sampling of the Performance effects!! Please. I want to be able to make a pad out of the sample while I play the performance effects. Such a simple request. So much fun and so useful if that were added. Developers…please add the ability to record or automate or resample while applying and or playing the performance effects. The Roland TR 707/101 lacks this feature with the scatter effects. They are so fun but like the koala can only be used live. I want…need to add the effects I perform to a sample and pad. Definitely doable and makes this a 5 star app Please Thank you A quick YouTube search will show others want this too. Only work around is to set the hold (not playable) then use mic to resample (bad quality and no movement becuase of hold.

You guys took and awesome chopper update and made it where I can no longer copy my chopper from one pad to another….please fix back

I use a lot of hardware along with a ton of iOS apps. I have to say that I used to use my 303 quite a bit. Got a 404 and I think I’ve used it twice since the day this app came out. I have five hardware samplers, but I still find myself coming back to this one. The developer is extremely responsive. Constantly updating. Plus, for the price you cannot beat it. I can say the only other two samplers I own that I use as much as this are the teenage engineering medieval and riddim. On occasion, I’ll use the Korg Voca sampler or the old Electribe ES – one. I still find this to be much easier and very quick gratification.

I like the work flow and the ease of use the only reason I will you s another daw will be because of Auv3 effects you guys add that feature it’s game over but over all I enjoy the app but could you guys please add auv3 effects and automation I forgot about that but yeah

Koala desperately needs to be able to put the number of times you need one sequence to play at a time during the song play through mode such as in Korg gadget, this would definitely improve workflow in putting actual songs together. I like Koala but I had to stop using it for this very reason, but I would gladly start back using it if this element is ever implemented, updated or installed.

And the devs are just as dope. Constant upgrades for the price of lunch (the samurai upgrade). Pay once and it just keeps getting better.

I truly love this app! It’s so much fun to make beats with, and it’s wicked easy to understand. This app not only helped me how to make boom bap style beats, but it’s grown into a full blown hobby. I never thought I’d ever be able to play music, and although I don’t play traditional instruments, this turned my iPad and iPhone into an instrument. It even works PERFECTLY with my MIDI controller. If you’re someone who really wants to get into making beats, this app is your one stop shop. It’s THE BEST app for bedroom studio producers. I could even see this being used in a professional setting.

so i buy the damn app to be able to chop samples easily and the autochop feature is apart of another plugin you have to buy. so stupid. every other daw i've used has a sampler and an autochop feature built in and you're telling me i have to buy a whole other plugin just to not have to individually record what i want chopped? thats annoying. for all that i could've just bought a plugin that integrates with an actual daw. im convinced anyone being nice about this app is a bot.

Best music production app in the app store hands down. Love how you can sync it with an SP-404 as well.

The thing is, I mix stems , not two tracks. So, when it comes to using the “perform” section, it should have and NEEDS options to export what i performed, as stems, even with the fx baked into it. The koala sampler is supposed to make things easier , which it does. Add this feature and when I don’t have to deal with mixing a two track with fx baked into it and I can still have my stems to control the mixing aspect. I’ll leave another review after I release a project with the beats I make using the iPhone.

You should add the thing from fl where u can make beat patterns easily

Been using this app since 2019 and I can fully say that it’s changed my life for the better not to hate on hardware but using this is the easiest thing for me and has boosted my mental health drastically by how much access I have to creating music before I had to set up my equipment and load in drums from a floppy disk and sometimes my brain isint in the right mental space to do all of that so being open to simply open a application to get started made things 1000 times easier this is single handingly the best app I’ve ever purchased

Just discovered the autoplay feature and could not be happier. This app has a great and powerful workflow that makes it my favorite sampler. Also just so fun to mess around with!

Love this app so much! Used to make beats in college and moved away from it, but this app makes it so easy to play around with sampling on the go that I’m actually considering putting out some music again. The add ons are inexpensive and totally worth it too.
