RadarOmega: Doppler Radar App

Maybe it's not their fault, but mostvof the weather stations dissappeared from my area. The best was on a military base and the DoD is no longer skating weather data. You likely won't have any in your area either.

Used to be a solid go-to, now the app (even MacOS version) go blank and needs to be closed and reopened FREQUENTLY to be of any use. What am I paying for?

I don’t even know how to use it plus can it just show a map of storms instead of making us click on radars. I feel like it doesn’t even show storms correctly because it said it was raining on my house but it wasn’t even raining. No wonder it makes us pay to get it so it can steal our money. Do NOT buy this it’s just for them to get rich just use the free ones or your weather app!!!

I have to constantly reload this app on my iPhone and iPad. It is very annoying especially when I want a quick glance at the weather during a threatening period. Please get this fixed. I have reported this before and nothing is fixed. The app is rarely updated. I just cancelled my subscription. Looks like your getting a bunch of bad ratings. Better start fixing things.

This app is not the same as your regular radar apps this is a weather tracker completly useless if your just want a more detailed radar app

Map is outdated. It says Gulf of Mexico and I don’t even know what that is. Gulf of America however is what should be there but it is not. If I could get my a refund I would.

This app is complex and there are no tips or pointers. It is extremely expensive and I was afraid to incur more cost by hitting the wrong toggle. Radar image was useless and I could not change it. I was on the hook for $12+ per month yet while it was raining, I found nothing usable on radar. I emailed support and got a price list with Greek letter names that I will never remember. I’ve worked in app development and this is about as useless and confusing an app as I’ve ever seen. Don’t buy it. I deleted mine.

I love the customizability that you don’t get with RadarScope. BUT, RadarScope is not as buggy and actually updates. And there’s WeatherWise which I actually like more then RadarScope due to the color tables being easier on my eyes and I can actually see the area I’m looking at. The other problem is unacceptable. You have to know this already, but Max Velocity uses RadarOmega. He saves lives, but he ends up using something else sometimes like tonight he had to use WeatherWise more then he did RadarOmega for today’s severe weather outbreak in western Texas and eastern New Mexico. But he needs this to work in order to save lives. That has to be the priority, not the money that you get from your border-line not worth it pricing. But we have to pay for it because we need the desktop version. This can’t go on. I want to follow Max Velocity’s footsteps and save lives without putting mine at risk by chasing. That’s the other problem. A lot of these chasers use RadarOmega, and they need it to make sure that they don’t end up right in the path of possibility an intense to violent tornado. You don’t understand how many people need this app anymore. The globe is getting warmer which typically means every severe weather season is just going to get worse. I need to be able to use RadarOmega without waiting 10+ minutes for a radar scan when WeatherWise already got it. But for me the RadarOmega interface is more familiar and I just prefer that interface rather than WeatherWise or RadarScope. But during the March 14 tornado outbreak, there were several instances where I waited as long as 25 minutes for a radar scan that was done in 2 minutes on either RadarScope and 2-4 minutes on WeatherWise. Overall, the app on iOS or Desktop is not that stable and has bugs that significantly affect bug content creators. Even I want to be a content creator but at the price of RadarScope but how unstable the Radar Omega app is, I might as well make my on software someday when I can get better at coding and making apps and/or websites. Little to no updates in recent leave the app vulnerable to frequent bugs with radar not loading and radar sweeps taking far too long to come in when compared to rival apps. Unfortunately WeatherWise clears this app even with the paid subscription.

This app is like my dream! I love weather a lot an having this app in the App Store is just amazing

Great except even the base level app after paying for it is really limited. You get a nationwide radar and that’s it. I payed for it, I want at least one more option. Velocities would be amazing. Other than that really great app with a lot of good points. I like the personalized Home Screen and I like the various alerts and outlooks you can see

Have had the app for a year now and have heard all these issues other people are having but I myself have never had a problem with the app. I love how customizable all the data is and I think you could get everything you need out of just the base app. I do pay for the Gamma subscription but think it is worth it if you wanna spend the money. If you are having issues with the app I think you may be overloading it with data, Radar Omega pulls a lot of information from a lot of sources so if your trying to display everything the app offers at once your going to run into issues.

The app is amazing and I just bought rapid sweep but it keeps bugging out. It does one or one and a half of a sweep and goes away for 3-10 minutes before it comes back again. I would really love for this to be fixed so I could continue using it.

I used to like this app a long time ago, however, this app is way too buggy and hasn’t even updated in over a year. It still offers great features, but it’s way too buggy.

While this app was very good and regularly updated, apparently it’s now headed for life support status. No updates in a year means nobody cares- it’s just a money grab at this point. Wisely go spend your money elsewhere!

Runs slow not good for storm chasing

I use the App in stage mode on the iPad. Every day when I come back to it the map is gone and I’m forced to restart the App! Completely annoying and not what I expected. Would never spend money on an upgraded version when the base version doesn’t get the basics right.

I re-call the days of turning Radar Omega on in severe weather (I live in the Tropics) and immediately knowing when I can likely leave a location to seek better cover or stay put. I now have to constantly off load and upload the app a FEW times a day in order for it to work. I did speak to customer service along time ago when app started to have the issue but in a smaller scale. They were nice but these days nice does not cut it…The people want service.

Nothing loads. Big blank screen. Likely incompatible with lockdown mode. Buyer beware.
