Reviews
This was by far the most fluid and best radar app bar none until these last few updates. It is almost impossible to read the tiny print now and it needs to have a way to adjust print size in the settings. Some of the updates made it a little cleaner but for the most part I don’t feel like it was broke to begin with, why change it. As far as information and functionality, radar omega can’t be beat and I would give it 6 stars. Not being able to read it now really messes that up!
First paid weather app I installed for both desktop and mobile. ~6 months ago my custom positions disappeared on mobile and now nov 2025 the app won’t load radar for me. Can only assume the app is EOL given it hasn’t had an update in over 12 months. Sad to see a previously good app to go but can’t rely on it now and no way to “update” it given that there is no new version for a year
I have always enjoyed using Radar Omega, but it’s time for me to find a new Weather app. They have no concern with their subscribers who pay for the service. They just recently did an update and the dashboard at the bottom of the app is now super small. I tried to talk to customer service about it and they have no concern. I wondered why Ryan Hall left Radar Omega. I think I found out.
I have an iPad tablet and had no issues with this app for the past 3 years. All of a sudden it does load,
Does what it does, only if we got a way better volumetric view and data in 5.5, besides that, a solid 3.5-4, I really want a better volumetric viewer (that’s on par with GR2analyst v3)
Last big update just made app junk. Basically a paid for overpriced world map Wouldn’t recommend anymore.
This most recent “overhaul” broke the app. Can’t view model info. Map doesn’t zoom in and out etc. bad
I’ve tried asking on RadarOmega’s twitter and subreddit, but to no avail. The app worked beautifully throughout the whole time i’ve had it, but after a recent update (to the app, not my iOS), it has stopped working. I get a black screen, with an icon in the upper left that just spins. Nothing will load correctly. Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, nothing works. Would love if a dev could help me out, otherwise this has become vaporware.
I emailed and asked for help. They gave me help for the computer version. My phone app will not load. It just spins.
I paid for a higher tier subscription and happy I did. Radar updates quickly and is very accurate. Newer update makes the UI easier to operate.
Very overpriced for what you get. The app lacks basic featurs even after paying $8.99 to download.
So you can’t get storm paths and speed anymore?
I have been with radar omega for almost 5 years and I love it! There are some things I would like to have such as having a customizable radar sweep animation. A custom warning table overlay or regular background overlay. And maybe a warngen system for only your POV. I do recommend this app to people that want to learn, start streaming, and do storm chasing.
This app has been great for the two years I’ve used it. I happen to do an update on the app and all of a sudden there’s like no blur to the background. It’s like impossible to read. I’m not sure if this has any influence on the new iOS 26 update but I will say if it does, this is not it, there is just no readability there needs to be some in the background when you’re trying to change modes
There are other apps that are free with better radar than what you get with even the cheapest subscription to RadarOmega. In my opinion, for RadarOmega to be close to user friendly and get the features you would expect, you have to pay a lot more than what it’s worth. I would gladly pay $20 or $30 one time for this app with all features unlocked. But not $120 a year for something you can find on a bowser and bookmark.
This app used to be good but it’s full of bugs and hasn’t been updated in well over a year. It’s been running on auto pilot and my many pleas for help to support have all been un answered. I believe the developers have all bailed on the app and it’s just a matter of time until it’s snuffed out.
Love it
A valuable resource for people that want to track severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. Best App on my phone. I love this App, I refer to it several times daily. Like Ryan Y’all said, “the cost of a Big Mac meal.” Best money I ever spent. There are advanced options you can subscribe to, but it’s not necessary after purchasing App. Can’t go wrong getting this App.
I was on the fence about paying for a weather app, but RadarOmega completely changed how I think about checking the forecast. You don’t have to be a storm chaser or weather expert to use this—it’s built for everyone. The interface is clean, the tools are accurate, and the ability to see exactly what’s headed my way—down to my street—is a game changer. Whether I’m planning a weekend hike, making sure my kids are safe at practice, or just deciding if I need to bring an umbrella, RadarOmega gives me everything I need—fast. You can tell this app was built by people who care about keeping you informed, not just showing you a cartoon cloud. Worth every penny.
I can’t cancel this in the app store
