Upside: Gas & Food Cash Back

Love the app, however it gets very confusing sometimes with multiple cards for different transactions at the same locations or even on the same day. “Needs review” will usually be the status on most because each visit will process 2 from the same visit even though you only used 1 (1 gas fill up and/or 1 in-store purchase) if you use 2 different cards or even the same card for the necessary claims, it can get too complicated to get processed appropriately. Not sure if it was error on my part or theirs depending on the certain claims but just be forewarned on confusion. For other users that think about using this app, try to make it less confusing for Upside by using the same card for a single claim for both you and Upside to make it less confusing. For these reasons, I gave this 4/5 stars instead of 5/5.

Fantastic app

I have had an account for years and saved money up in it to transfer. I just went to the app last week and I was logged out. Which is odd. I tried logging back in and it said my email was not registered with an account. I contacted support and they told me my email doesn’t exist in their system. They stole all the money I had saved up and now are gaslighting me saying I never had an account. DONT USE UPSIDE.

An unlikely scenario at Giant Grocery Store. Another couple and us, attending a funeral at Arlington, stopped at what appeared to be a nice grocery. We thought to pop across the street for a quick lunch pick up. Returned a very short time later- picked up some fresh produce and walked out to find our car had been towed. We were forced to walk in the heat, in funeral attire (with young children) a mile to retrieve our vehicles (2) from impound. The manager “showed mercy” by having their tow company charge for only one of the two vehicles which had been there by that time maybe an hour. What a scam! Likely spotters in their lot watching for out of towners. Beware!!

Very useful especially with the economy. I’ve been here since Covid! Gas, restaurants, & in store transactions! Take advantage

I was skeptical at first until my son said get the app ma. Now I see why he always uses it. Every time I’m at Giant market or at Shell gas station I’m in my app because of the discounts plus I get money back for spending money. The app is very user friendly so yes I love this app.

I had recently started using this app with the rising gas costs. I have received a few dollars back but, most transactions have been labeled as delayed, for days. To me, it’s just not worth it.

Would be good if you live by participating gas stations, if you live in a smaller town you probably will not be able to use the benefits.

This apps really does give you cash back. This app is needed especially with these high gas prices.

I use Upside always locally when filling up in California because it is ESSENTIAL to get any discount possible! And I prefer the better stations like Chevron or Shell so it really is necessary! Usually pretty easy to accept my cash back and then cash out!

The service works well in most areas but trying to find gas stations that accept it in less rural areas is difficult. However the cash back when I really needed it was really helpful.

Love this app, I mostly use it for the gas rewards as I fill up 3-5 times a week. I rack up $100 every 3-4 months. It’s wonderful, and super easy to use.

I honestly cannot believe how much money I’ve gotten back using the Upside app. Over time, I’ve earned over $600 just from things I was already doing like getting gas, grabbing food, and even grocery shopping. It’s so easy to use and feels like a no-brainer at this point. I love that I’m saving money without having to change my routine at all. If you’re not using this yet, you’re seriously missing out. I highly, highly recommend it to anyone who wants to put a little extra cash back in their pocket without any extra effort ❣️

Needs work on submitting receipts when pursuing cash

learned about them through Instacart Shopper, because i drive a lot i use them with every single gas purchase..Sunday i started the cash out process then this morning i received an email saying that my account was locked for fraudulent activity. No luck getting ahold of a representative just the chat box, it's unfortunate because this app is extremely useful and i would love to gain access to it again.

I’ve used this app for years but I can no longer get into my app no matter if I use Face ID or manually enter the password with the app closing and I’ve deleted and downloaded it again and again with no success. Interesting how I can get notifications from the app but can’t login or get customer service to help. Don’t waste your time, just use GasBuddy and you can see the local gas prices.
