LumaFusion

I do like using this app on my 12pro max. I do miss the old version, but demands must be met. Back then I could mix the free music they had, but Luma changed it to something different. However, there are some great features on the new version. I still have not used them yet, still doing stuff the old fashioned ways. I hope they let out a little more free music for background 😁😁😁. Other than that, I am slowly learning about audio and separate voice from music.

The app is excellent in terms of performance, features, and professionalism, and it’s one of the best video editing apps on iPhone. However, unfortunately, it does not support the Arabic language, which is disappointing for me and for many Arabic users. I really hope the development team adds full Arabic language support, because this app deserves to be accessible to everyone without exception.

Lumafusion is a solid app, but it’s still missing some key features the devs have been promising for years—like customizable folders for presets (by name and color), motion tracking, and more advanced filter options like linear, circular, and refined masks for effects. Their support is honestly a joke. I’ve reported a random UI reset bug for three years now, and all they do is ask the same dumb questions instead of fixing it. I set up my UI exactly how I want it, and the app just resets everything to default whenever it feels like it. I’ve sent them logs, explained that it’s random, but they still haven’t figured it out. I even suggested adding basic stuff like custom default colors in the timeline to separate audio, video, and b-roll—super obvious stuff to help editors—but they just said, “How does this help?” Like, come on, devs. Use your brains. Even when I tried using ChatGPT to communicate clearer messages to them, it’s still the same slow, clueless responses. I’m done messaging you. Figure it out, devs. It’s been years, and I’m still waiting for real progress and updates. At this point, I’m just holding out for a few more improvements from Final Cut Pro before switching over.

It suddenly starts playing a different clip randomly and won’t play the clip I select. The same issue keeps happening every time I restart the app.

I only wish it supported XF-AVC but otherwise nothing else comes close. And the export to Final Cut Pro seals the deal.

Very disappointed, as I’ve been using this app for years. Paid the initial 30 dollars I think it was, maybe more? The app worked like a charm and still does, but I realized that the initial options for background music I would be able to use aren’t even an option anymore. You now have to subscribe to the Creator Pass to use anything under Storyblocks. I get it, you have to make money, but I paid for this app. There are plenty of places I can get free music from, but having the free options already on the app, made it so much easier. If this was a free app, I would understand. But why charge for an app purchase, if you’re going to charge even more after?

Just wanted to simply change smoke color in a video. Didn’t know I would need to take 2-3 college level courses to accomplish that.

Wonderfull App

LumaFusion v5.4.0 does NOT run on MacOS Sequoia 15.7.x or earlier. LumaFusion v5.4.0 REQUIRES users to upgrade their MacBook to MacOS 26 (Tahoe) or newer. The latest version of CapCut and iMovie runs on MacOS Sequoia. Why not LumaFusion? I PAID for LumaFusion. I heard GREAT things about LumaFusion and I would LOVE TO USE LumaFusion on my project, but I CANNOT RUN LumaFusion at all, so ZERO stars (but lowest rating is 1).

I’ve been using LumaFusion on my iPad M4. It works great. I installed the iPad Version on my Mac M4 MB Pro and now cannot import any lots. What am I missing??

Unfortunately, there’s more to criticize of course, like slowing, glitching, or crashing when using any speed increase/decrease settings, scenes glitching out in the project itself, or audio filters not working after exporting vids. However, my biggest issue would be with the random darkness that appears on exported videos. I assemble a lot of images sometimes, and some vids get lengthy. The longer the video and the more images and effects, the more likely I get this random blackness showing up. It’s like the images just dissapear momentarily, ranging from a literal split second to several, and I can’t find a fix, just annoying workarounds. It’s VERY frustrating and time-consuming to re-observe a 3-9 minute video 6 times to spot these blacked out moments. It used to not do this at all. I’d like to keep using LumaFusion and even wanted to purchase some of it’s features. But I cannot justify spending more money on an app that just frustrates me anymore.

So much better than the adobe video editing program which shall remain unnamed. Do yourself a favor and purchase the best video app on the Apple Store, Lumafusion. It will literally solve all of your problems.

The UI in this thing is so illogical and pointless that it is impossible to use efficiently. Try this: create a test project. Add a title. Now try to edit the title. Next, add a video or photo to your timeline and perhaps another. Now try to add a transition. IF you are LUCKY you’ll be able to find out how to do either of these things. Searching the inferior ON-LINE ONLY help for text or transition will yield nothing. Any other vid edit tool will be more efficient than this waste of time.

I bought this to try a very niche use. I couldn’t get it to work and so contacted support. They were very helpful, worked with me to provide options and put some further improvements on their roadmap. As I don’t need it now without some very specific updates, I asked their thoughts on a refund and they let me know how to do that through the Apple Store. It seems like an excellent app and the support was outstanding. I will very likely return in the future, it’s just not a match for my niche needs yet (one one supports my request yet)- but seems likely to get there.

They just try to get you in the door with $20 purchase .. and then to use any feature .. $20 + $20 + $20 … per feature. All of the sudden $200 for all features. Garbage.

I’m using this on a Mac Mini M4, have more than enough processing power. Project kept freezing when scrubbing. Very frustrating. Had to quit app as nothing would respond.

I started using Luma about a month ago. It’s great. So easy and I can use it on my Mac, iPad and phone. It is now the only editor I use for YouTube. I do both shorts and longs with it. Super easy interface and low friction for your workflow.
